Happy New Year! I trust the coming year brings you peace, joy and God’s best for you, your family and your ministry.
Over the holiday season, I have listened to the media recount the lives of those who died during the past year. It was an impressive list. The world lost some of its movers and shakers. People we have grown up with, heard on the radio, seen on TV or found on the Internet, passed away. Some were notable; others were ordinary. Some were rich; others were poor. Some took from life; others gave back to life. Some had notoriety; others lived in obscurity.
As I listened to the names, I kept asking myself, “If they could come back to talk to us for five minutes, what would they say?” I am sure what they once considered important, no longer matters to them. There are probably regrets for some of their choices.
This got me thinking about Bible characters. If people like Moses, Esther, Jeremiah and Noah could come back to visit with us for five minutes, what would they say?
I am starting a new series of articles entitled, What Would They Say Now? From the perspective of eternity and a completed life, what would they say is really important? The first in the series is about King David: there’s more to pleasing God than worship: you have to finish well! It will be posted shortly.
